Winner Announced for the Mercedes-Benz Start Up Contest

Six emerging Canadian fashion labels were ready to compete against one another for the grand prize at Mercedes-Benz Start Up contest. This is an annual contest that tests the talents of emerging fashion designers. The grand prize winner was set to receive a $30,000 and their very own runway show during the World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto, Canada in March of 2016. After failing to win in 2011, Canadian label, UNTTLD, was awarded the grand prize. The designers, Jose Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Belanger, were influenced by Japanese and Spanish design for the creation of their winning collection. The duo have stated that they want to use the money to expand their label throughout Canada and one day open a boutique. Silver Star Mercedes-Benz Montreal wants to congratulate the duo on their victory.
