The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA gets bigger and more powerful

Introduced last December, the all-new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level SUV. Despite being the most affordable sport utility vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, the new GLA is not short on power, performance, and versatility. This is a luxury SUV that is as comfortable on the highway as it is in the city and that combines every feature young families and active buyers want in their utility vehicle.

A new, more aerodynamic design for the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA

The first thing you notice about the new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is, of course, its redesigned exterior. Featuring a bolder look with more aggressive lines, the GLA has a sportier look that remains elegant and impressive. It’s a distinctive visual signature that will get noticed on the road.

The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA features many of the elements founds on the redesigned GLE mid-size SUV, including improved aerodynamics. The GLA’s drag coefficient has been reduced from 0.30 to 0.28 as a result of a sleeker design. A lower drag coefficient means better fuel economy and less wind noise.

As we stated previously, the new 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is improved in every way. Inside, it gets a much more modern and luxurious cockpit where the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system is housed in two 7.0-inch displays. MBUX is like your personal assistant on the road, allowing you to change various settings using natural voice commands. The system also adapts to your preferences over time making access to your most frequently used features easier.

Power, space, and plenty of standard features

Powering the new GLA is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine gets you to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, making it quicker out of the gate than the Audi Q3 or BMW X1. This engine comes paired out of the gate with 4Matic all-wheel drive for guaranteed traction and stability, even in the worst weather.

The cargo area can accommodate up to 1,430 litres, making the GLA one of the most spacious luxury SUVs in its class. The cockpit has gained in interior space which means there is more room for front and rear passengers as well.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA starts at $42,400 and comes with a range of advanced safety features standard. These include ATTENTION ASSIST which can alert the driver if signs of fatigue or drowsiness are detected, Active Brake Assist which not only can help you apply the appropriate force to prevent an accident but also brake automatically if you fail to respond, crosswind assist, heated windshield wiper system, and a rearview camera.

The new 2021 Mercedes-Ben GLA also comes with heated front seats, automatic climate control, power front seats with 3-position memory, keyless entry and start, and remote start via the Mercedes me Mobile App.
