MBUX: a world of possibilities

Multimedia systems offered by manufacturers are becoming more and more sophisticated. At Mercedes-Benz, the approach developed literally offers the driver an experience. In fact, the name of the system refers to it, as it is called MBUX for Mercedes-Benz User Experience. Here are five rather interesting facets about it.

1 - A personal assistant

The system literally allows you to interact with it, especially to obtain various information, all while having a "normal" conversation. For example, by using the "Hey, Mercedes" command, you can say, for example, "it's hot inside" and the system will adjust the parameters accordingly.

You can even ask what the temperature will be tomorrow, or which team won the Stanley Cup in... 1993.

2 - An intelligent system

The artificial intelligence functions of the MBUX allow it to adapt to your preferences. For example, if you often call a particular contact in the morning, or if you use a particular function in the evening, the system will ask you if you want to do so at the time you are used to running.

3 - Four ways to interact

Most multimedia systems offer one or two ways to communicate. The Mercedes-Benz approach offers four, so there's something for every owner, not to mention the fact that sometimes it's better to use one than the other depending on the situation. For example, the system can be accessed via voice recognition, a touchpad or even touch functions directly on the screen. As an added bonus, two small touchpads are located on each side of the steering wheel, so that functions can be accessed without taking your eyes off the road and your hands off the wheel.

4 - Augmented Reality Navigation

Navigation systems have fascinated the planet from the moment they first came on the market. The most recent evolution of these has the same effect thanks to augmented reality. Imagine arriving at a poorly lit intersection or one with poor signage, the image on your information screen will show you the names of the streets and the direction to take on the image that represents the road ahead of you. This is now possible thanks to the MBUX.

5 - A configurable system

When buying a vehicle, we've always been used to dealing with the analog gauges that were offered to us. With the MBUX system, all the information at our disposal is configurable. If you want to find traditional instruments in front of your eyes, you have this option, but you can also decide that the gauge on the left displays your music or the vehicle's fuel consumption. In fact, the possibilities are practically unlimited here on one of the three wallpapers that are automatically activated with the choice of one of the driving modes.
