How to properly protect your vehicle this winter

With winter just around the corner, your vehicle is getting ready for its toughest months of the year. Unfortunately, it is not naturally equipped to handle them without risk. That's why it's necessary to consider a few solutions to help it. Here are three of them.

1 - Paint sealer

Snow, ice, debris, calcium, winter scrapes, literally, the body of your vehicle. Consequently, it is natural to think about protecting it. To do so, there are various solutions, including the application of a paint sealer. The latter, which can be applied at the dealership, acts as a body armour. And the beauty of the thing is that it will also be useful next summer to protect your frame from the sun's rays. Depending on how you use your vehicle, it is recommended that you have your sealant replaced at certain intervals (two years, three years, etc.). Check with your dealer.

2 - Floor mats

Would you dare to walk around with your calcium-stained boots at home in the evening? Of course not! Yet, in your vehicle in the winter, you keep them on, leaving a lot of debris on the carpet. This calcium ends up damaging the carpet and can also contribute to floor corrosion. This is why it is strongly recommended to install floor mats inside your vehicle. They are designed to hold dirt and are easy to clean. Your dealer will be able to guide you in making the right choice.

3 - Protective underlay

Of course, rust protection is a must in the winter, but have you thought about protecting the underside of your vehicle? It is possible to do so with the application of a wax or rubber-based composite material. The latter is sprayed on the surface underneath the vehicle and protects the components from all the junk they will encounter on the road throughout the winter.
