2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. 2020 Infiniti Q50

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class model line offers some of the best sport sedan performance the industry offers. Four luxury trim levels ensure that you have the perfect mix of features that match your driving intentions. Although competitors lurk within the segment, the C-Class invites comparisons. Here, we compare the lineup to the Infiniti Q50.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class features a better range of vehicles

The C-Class features four engine levels over the same amount of models. For starters, the C 300 4MATIC Sedan features a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This trim and the remaining AMG counterparts all receive a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Despite the availability of six models, the Infiniti Q50 includes one engine for most of them. A twin-turbo 3.0L six-cylinder generates 300 horsepower. You will have to settle on a seven speed automatic transmission in the Q50 lineup. Some buyers prefer an option with fewer horsepower and much better fuel efficiency, so they'll consider the C 300 model instead.

The Infiniti's top engine is a twin-turbo six-cylinder that generates 400 horsepower in two Red Sport trims, but it has lower torque than the remaining C-Class models.

The Mercedes Benz C-Class offers three more models that climb the performance ladder. The AMG C 43 has a twin-turbo 3.0L six-cylinder that outputs 385 horsepower, but increases torque over the Q50's top engine by 34 lb-ft. This initiates a verifiable difference in response.

The AMG C 63 steps up with a 4.0L twin-turbo eight-cylinder which increases horsepower to 469 and torque to 479 lb-ft, well beyond the reach of the Q50. The AMG C 63 S represents the top model with an output of 503 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Overall, the C-Class presents greater efficiency and power options than the Infiniti Q50.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers a more advanced cabin

When you get into a Q50, you will notice that it is outdated for the segment. The C-Class has more technologies but also more front head and shoulder and significantly more rear head, shoulder, and leg room than the Q50.

All models include a full line of comfort, technology and safety features, many that are not available in the Q50.
